International Police Association operates in 64 countries and includes police officers , both working at the moment, and are retired. This is the only police organization that exists outside of race and ethnicity , regardless of ideology, ideological convictions and religious beliefs of its members. IPA was established in Britain at the initiative of Arthur Troup , who immediately after the Second World War began to work on the creation of the World Organization of Friendship between the police officers. He worked for creating a structure that will allow colleagues to share professional experiences from different countries. January 1, 1950 - the official date of the creation of the IPA . Arthur Troup became the first section of its leaders in their country .
Section Ukraine became a member of the International Police Association officially June 6, 1997 during the Fifteenth World Congress of the IPA .
IPA has been researching the level of crime in different countries, the introduction of technological innovations in the work of law enforcement , organize personal meetings between members of the law enforcement agencies of all countries included in it , holds joint holidays and vacations, helps its members and their families , the staff on duty, the bereaved families officers.
